May 5, 2013 is the date on which three lakh medical aspirants will collectively sit for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) – a common entrance test for admission to MBBS courses across the country. NEET is the single entry point to almost all government and private medical colleges in India. In 2012, just 12% of the 2.5 lakh candidates were successful, and 2013 will see increased competition for the same.

Balancing Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology syllabi, and answering 180 multiple-choice questions in the allotted three hours is immense pressure for these aspiring doctorsAt under a minute per question, students need to be on top of their game to be able to complete the exam, and complete it well, with no margin for error. Students eligible for the test would have completed their Class 12 exams, leaving them just enough time to revise for NEET.

Attano, India’s largest store for interactive educational eBooks, has addressed this challenge and partnered with ENTRANCEi to launch a comprehensive ultimate interactive revision package for students considering NEET 2013.

The package comprises nine interactive eBooks, covering Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. There are chapter highlights and tests for each subject, followed by subject-level tests (one per subject), and one complete mock examination, which simulates the actual test that students will finally appear for. Students across the country preparing for this competitive exam can download the Ultimate Revision Pack for NEET on their laptop/PC or a tablet of their choice. Post downloading, the students can access and prepare in an offline mode as well.

Soumya Banerjee, CEO, Attano, says, “There is a logical progression to how the Attano Ultimate Revision Packs are structured. They take into account not only how students learn, but the environment in which learning takes place as well. So information is presented in bite-sized chunks with a gradual build-up. Our packages are interactive, giving you instant scores which are available online and offline. Students who choose Attano are choosing to study smart.”

Navin C Joshi, CEO, ENTRANCEi, says, “Given that students have 180 questions to be solved in three hours, practicing time management by taking mock tests is a must. Also, CBSE is going to be conducting NEET and the revision theory we have given for each chapter gives comprehensive coverage of the same. There are some differences in the CBSE syllabus for Class 11 and 12 compared to NEET and our pack has been designed to help the student optimally. We are confident that we can help any student boost his/her All India Rank (AIR) in NEET significantly.

The Ultimate Revision Pack for NEET 2013 is priced at just INR 499, a fraction of what any tutorial would cost you. To learn more, please visit: http://www.attano.com/neet.

Frost & Sullivan: New Technologies in Communications Spur the Need for General Purpose Test Equipment in Asia-Pacific

-- Integration of different general purpose testing functionalities in a single product will boost market

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia, March 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ – Evolving technologies in wireless and data communication networks and infrastructure, such as long term evolution and 4G, have spurred the need for general purpose test equipment in Asia-Pacific, as testing these networks is imperative to support the product development cycle, cover a wide range of radio frequency and digital measurements, and ensure their performance, safety and security.

New analysis from Frost Sullivan (http://www.testandmeasurement.frost.com), Asia-Pacific General Purpose Test Equipment Market, finds that the market earned revenues of more than US$888.1 million in 2012 and estimates this to reach US$1198.9 million in 2016.

“Technical advancements to efficiently manage growing data traffic and capacity issues create specific requirements in test and measurement solutions, and equipment manufacturers are widening their product portfolios to meet these requirements,” said Frost Sullivan Measurement Instrumentation Research Analyst Susan Sahayan. “Their solutions cover test instrumentation, software and services to cater to different applications in various stages of the network lifecycle, thereby boosting market scope.”

Testing devices with better throughput and functionalities, quicker measurement speeds, higher resolution and accuracy, and faster data analysis of signals are becoming popular with end users looking to reduce testing costs, adding to market revenues.

The shifting of manufacturing as well as research and development (RD) sites to Asia-Pacific owing to lower labor costs also drives the general purpose test equipment market. With the economic growth in emerging countries, including Vietnam, Indonesia and Cambodia, attracting foreign direct investments for manufacturing and industrial activities, demand for test equipment will continue.

However, several companies in Asia-Pacific that export to Europe, especially consumer electronic device dealers, are cautious with their expenditure on test equipment due to the European downturn, thus reducing market investments. The entry of low-cost Chinese devices has intensified competition, further straining test equipment manufacturers’ profit margins.

“To maintain their market share in the face of this stiff competition, equipment suppliers must invest in innovation, RD, and a strong product differentiation strategy,” concluded Sahayan. “The drive toward renewable energy and green technologies will open up new opportunities in RD, debugging, and lead to the development of environmental-friendly solutions.”

While the demand for stand-alone test equipment is likely to decrease, the integration of various general purpose test equipment functionalities in a single product will gain relevance in the region.

Sente’s primary goal is to aid optimal test asset utilization in the aerospace and defense industry. Its Test Resource Management (TRM) suite includes a complete set of tools that offers a holistic view of a company’s test environment and provides relevant data at the right time.

“The Sente Group’s employees work closely with the customers at their premises, which enables it to adapt its solutions to suit individual customer environments,” said Frost Sullivan Industry Director, Jessy Cavazos. “This deep understanding of customers’ needs have helped The Sente Group develop solutions that radically improve clients’ test asset management process and reduce overall test capital costs and associated support costs.”

“While several companies offer test asset management solutions in the North American market, Sente stands out with a greater variety of test assets, covering the entire product lifecycle, from planning to disposal, helping customers in strategic sourcing management, and for the measurable bottom line cost savings they produce,” noted Cavazos. “The company assists in capacity and demand planning, management of tests, characterization of equipment capability and costs, reduction of maintenance costs, and finally disposal of the test assets.”

Unlike its competitors, Sente focuses on an extensive range of test assets, which not only include general purpose test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, signal analyzers and power meters, but also large fixed-test assets such as wind tunnels, engine test cells, and program-specific test equipment, such as cables and fixtures.

The group’s TRM suite includes the PracticeTRM™ Practitioner Suite, the AccessTRM™ User Suite, the ManageTRM™ Manager Suite, as well as Additional Test Equipment Management Tools. The PracticeTRM™ Practitioner Suite consists of a combination of hardware and software tools, which TRM practitioners can use to efficiently execute critical asset management tasks. The AccessTRM™ User Suite allows easy access to TRM data. Together, these sets of software tools allow users across different groups within an organization to better coordinate their use of test equipment.

In addition, the ManageTRM Manager Suite comprises a set of software tools that provide lab managers with information about the cost and performance of the organization’s test resources. This not only helps eliminate unnecessary capital and support costs, but also enables forecasting of future trends and assists managers in critical decision-making. Sente’s additional test equipment management tools include a variety of tools that provide a number of additional functionalities; for instance, the TRMnet™ module can be used to support workflow across multiple geographic locations, while the SenteSource™ provides access to TRM best practices, along with customized reports, process maps and templates for individual customers.

Each year, Frost Sullivan presents this award to the company that has demonstrated excellence in implementing strategies that proactively create value for its customers with a focus on improving the return on the investment that customers make in its services or products. The award recognizes the company’s inordinate focus on enhancing the value that its customers receive, beyond simply good customer service, leading to improved customer retention and, ultimately, customer base expansion.

“I want to thank Frost Sullivan for recognizing us with this very prestigious award,” said Paul McNamara, Sente Group CEO. “When I founded The Sente Group 15 years ago, I believed a third-party software and services company, focused exclusively on managing the complex test environments inside large companies, but with certain unique capabilities, would be able to produce unprecedented levels of value compared to existing solutions. This award is a testament to the fact that we have done just that.”

Frost Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.

Zircotec renews technical partnership with Team Dynojet Touring Car Team

PRLog (Press Release)Mar. 19, 2013OXFORD – Following two successful years, Team Dynojet is to continue its technical partnership with thermal barrier specialists Zircotec. The team’s BTCC Toyota Avensis, driven by Frank Wrathall, uses a range of Zircotec’s products, ultimately offering gains in performance, reliability and safety.

“We started to use Zircotec’s exhaust coatings as way of solving reliability issues,” says Frank Wrathall Snr. “However, we realised that it offered much more. Under bonnet temperatures were reduced, thus lowering the charge temperature, resulting in more power. This was coupled to improved turbo response. We could also cut the cockpit temperatures, making it more comfortable for the driver.”

As part of the partnership agreement, Team Dynojet provides valuable feedback to Zircotec’s technicians on development parts and provides a useful test bed for new products. “We have launched ZircoFlex® Gold this year, offering insulation and radiant heat protection in a single product,” says Zircotec’s sales director Peter Whyman. “We plan to test this on the Avensis in 2013.”

About Zircotec

Zircotec www.zircotec.com offers a wide range of plasma sprayed ceramic and metallic coatings that protect components against the effects of heat, wear, abrasion and corrosion. Lightweight and easily packaged, Zircotec’s technologies can be applied to a broad range of different materials including metals and composites. Proven in F1 and the nuclear industry, the technology is now trusted by car manufacturers, industrial users, car enthusiasts and an increasing range of other applications to effectively manage heat and wear, enhancing performance and reliability. ZircoFlex® Gold, the latest development from Zircotec, offers for the first time, a truly flexible ceramic coating with additional radiant heat protection.
