AUDIO: Facebook bullies ‘torture people’

A woman who was abused on the internet has won court backing in her bid to gain the identities of those who targeted her.

Nicola Brookes told the Today programme that the abuse she was subjected to was so “overwhelming and graphic” she could not keep up with it all.

“The abuse is absolutely horrendous”, she said. “They literally torture people – they invade your life…steal your identity… spread malicious things.”

She told Justin Webb that police initially said there was nothing they could do as they could not prove who the people were. “The current law is flawed, it doesn’t work”, she said.

She explains that she isn’t going to stop and give up until “these people are found and exposed and held accountable for what they’ve done”.
